There is no formal organization or business structure governing iAVs, it is not owned by any company or individual, nor is there a central authority or business entity in charge of it.
iAVs was intentionally designed and gifted to the world as an open-source invention, meaning it is freely available for anyone to use, or implement without restrictions or licensing fees.
Dr. Mark R. McMurtry is the “Inventor of Record” for iAVs technology. His research at North Carolina State University (NCSU) from 1984 to 1994 laid the scientific foundation for the system. However, Dr. McMurtry fought against NCSU’s attempts to commercialize and license iAVs technology to large corporations. He strongly believed that iAVs should remain freely accessible to benefit communities worldwide, particularly in regions facing food insecurity and resource scarcity.
After a legal battle, Dr. McMurtry successfully regained all intellectual property rights related to iAVs in December 1989, ensuring its open-source status. Almost all of the iAVs research was funded personally by Dr. McMurtry.
This website, supported by Dr. McMurtry, serves as a hub for practitioners, researchers, and enthusiasts to connect, share knowledge, experiences, and support each other in implementing and refining iAVs practices.
It is important to note that sandponics is a system invented and trademarked by a Japanese corporation and sandponics is not iAVs.
Any person claiming on social media to represent iAVs or stating they work for iAVs is making false statements, as there is no formal organization or employment structure, there is no employees.
The only source of factual information is on this website and the iAVs research.
