Is anyone with iAVs in cold climate like Victoria, warming their sand at all? To encourage microbial activity?

I’m not from a cold climate but I would say it would be easier to simply slightly heat the water the fish are in.

I live in Canada (although I am currently in China working to produce better greenhouses) and in winter time the temperature can be as cold as -20 degrees Celsus. I know what it is like with a conventional greenhouse. That is why I am working with the Canadian inventor Richard Nelson to manufacture much better greenhouses. I encourage you to go to our website PyraPOD.com and PyraPOD.org to learn more about what we do.

As we discussed elsewhere, given that you have a greenhouse, I would look at installing a rocket stove or something similar. The sand beds and the tank should act as thermal mass to retain the heat.
